Harford County Senior Softball

Welcome to the Harford County Senior Softball league that is located in Joppa, Maryland. HCSS is an affiliate of Joppatowne Recreation Council and the Harford County Department of Parks and Recreation with additional sanctioning by USAS [USA Softball].

Players ranging from ages 45 to 70-something are invited to participate in an enjoyable and competitive men's slow-pitch, senior softball league that runs from early May through the end of July with a play-off tournament and championship. Ballplayers from surrounding counties and states are especially invited to sign up since there are no geographic restrictions. [You do not have to be a Harford County resident to play.]

The league is split into two skill levels; a master’s type group for ages [45-55] on Thursday nights and a more traditional senior league of [50-70+] year-old ballplayers on Tuesday nights.

In closing, our mantra seems appropriate to mention from a very timely adage:

"Seniors don't quit playing softball because they get old;

 they get old, because they quit playing!"

From The President 

Spring 2024

As the league's new president, I would like to welcome all new and returning players to our 32^nd season of Harford County Senior Softball. If you know of any prospective ballplayers [ages 45 - 70+], just simply refer them to the HCSS website and please remember that they do not have to be residents of Harford County.

Once again, Player Registration and sign-up will take place via hard [paper] copy PDF. The registration fee will be $100 for this season. As always, we must abide by the Joppatowne Recreational Council's policy of No Smoking or Alcohol on school premises.

In the event of inclement weather, always call the rain/heat hotline before coming to the fields. The phone number has a special "click-to-call" link for mobile devices and is also listed on our schedules. Postponed games will be called no later than 4:00 PM.

Please patronize all of our Corporate Sponsors because without their financial support which covers team jerseys and equipment, our playing fees would be much higher. Also, if you find anyone who would like to underwrite a full Corporate Sponsorship or become a Partial Sponsor or an Individual Donor for our league, kindly let me know.
